What Have I Learned About Happiness ?

Why do people suffer so much these day ?

The world always changing and we must adapt ourself and accept the new condition that happens. Pandemic was one of the reasons why we must adapt to becoming someone stronger. People commonly felt depressed and suffer when this change occurs. Happiness seems so far away, and out of reach. Happiness becomes one big treasure for everybody. It is no different for me until I write this article. Sometimes, I still have a hard time feeling happiness inside my mind.
I got almost 2 weeks to rewire my mind, and to improve my perspective about happiness. I learned some new things about happiness during my suffering time when i got Covid. I thought that when bad things happen to me, i could not be able to feel happiness again.
The form of happiness always lay in our mind.
1. Happiness is not a destination, but one side effect to our mind
Let's look through some facts in our brain. Our emotions were also controlled by different activities that occur by a chemical reaction inside our body. One of the reaction name Hormone, and Endorphine hormone cause our mind and body to feel excited, energetic, hopeful, and many positive things to boost ourself doing anything. This chemical reaction happens because there is something that generates our body to secrete Endorphine. For instance, you got ranking 1 in your classes, or you finally accepted into your dream job. With this new perspective, the best option for us to focus on our vision, and our dreams, and let happiness come during the journey.
2. We need a reason to be happy
I already mention that Endorphine hormone that cause the body to feel happiness need something to generate. This "something" was different for everybody, and it did not need to be a big things. For some people, this "something" may means that they are able to take their parents eating together in one restaurant. For other, this "something" means to become number one in their career. The term different means we have many choices to feel happy. Despite of many choices, some of us still not pick anything until now and hope to feel happy. The key only lay in the word choose. You must choose something.
3. Its not forever
Someday, I remember the word "Happily ever after", and today's generation started to doubt that this word still relates to our modern world. I could say that this word still relates to now. Why? because for some of the people, they still have a miss perception about happiness. They thought that this word means we would feel happy all the time, and we would not feel any other emotions. This perception needs to change, because like everything that happens in this world, there is no such thing as forever. We can't just feel happy all the time. The reason ? because we need all the emotions to support happiness. We need to feel sad so we can learn how to appreciate. We need to feel anger so we can aware of others. We need to feel fear so we can reach out our greatest potential.
